It is no longer news that Mauricio Pochettino has been sacked by Tottenham and Jose Mourinho appointed as Spurs’ new head coach. The news has, quite frankly, taken everybody in the football world by surprise. Just six months ago, Tottenham were on the cusp of Champions League glory after a truly memorable fight back against Ajax in the semi finals.
Tottenham played and won their first game under Jose Mourimho ,a first away win since January and a good start for Jose Mourinho new club. But not a perfect one; with 20 minutes to go they were 3-0 up and cruising, by full-time they were hanging on by their fingertips. The sign of a team low on confidence I suppose, but still plenty to work on for players and manager like.
“I was back where I belong,” he said. “This is my natural habitat. “Was I extra emotional? No. Was I nervous before the game? No. But I just love it. “To confess, the most difficult moments for me in this 11 months was the part of the summer when, for the first time, I didn’t have a pre-season. I was looking at other managers and clubs doing things. It was a weird feeling.”
With the appointment of Jose Mourinho as Spurs head coach, players like Dele Alli,Eric Dier,Lucas Moura,Tanguy Ndombele,Davinson Sánchez, Serge Aurier who naturally are Mourinho kind of players are expected to raise their game under the tutelage of the humble One.
“In football nothing is certain, but one thing is: Jose Mourinho is a winner.
