“ In the voice of Bradley Cooper song title Shallow-Tell me something’, girl Are you happy in this modern world? Or do you need more? Is there something’ else you’re searching’ for” – I attribute this lyrics to the talent and potential of young Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen who has taken French football by storm, So far with 7 goals 2 assists in 13 ligue 1 appearance not forgetting 2 goals in his debut Uefa Champions league season.
Born in the hustling and bustling city of Lagos Nigeria on December 29, 1998. Osimhen like most African footballers did not grow up in the best of circumstance. He started his football development with Ultimate Strikers Academy in Nigeria, his career took off and he deservedly made the Nigerian U-17 World Cup in 2015, winning Golden Boot and Silver Ball. He is the All-time record goal scorer in FIFA U-17 World Cup history (10 goals in 7 appearances). He has not looked back since then scoring 4 goals in 9 appearance for the Nigeria Super Eagles.
Osimhen’s best attributes are his range of finishes, his pace, directness and intelligent movement in and around the box, exemplify by his eye for shooting. Far from the finished article, he still has glaring weaknesses in his game like every other young striker.
Standing at 1.85m tall with his rich potentials, is safe to say that “a star with world class potential is born” to the football world.

‘Welcome back Jose’ (Humble One).

It is no longer news that Mauricio Pochettino has been sacked by Tottenham and Jose Mourinho appointed as Spurs’ new head coach. The news has, quite frankly, taken everybody in the football world by surprise. Just six months ago, Tottenham were on the cusp of Champions League glory after a truly memorable fight back against Ajax in the semi finals.

Tottenham played and won their first game under Jose Mourimho ,a first away win since January and a good start for Jose Mourinho new club. But not a perfect one; with 20 minutes to go they were 3-0 up and cruising, by full-time they were hanging on by their fingertips. The sign of a team low on confidence I suppose, but still plenty to work on for players and manager like.
“I was back where I belong,” he said. “This is my natural habitat. “Was I extra emotional? No. Was I nervous before the game? No. But I just love it. “To confess, the most difficult moments for me in this 11 months was the part of the summer when, for the first time, I didn’t have a pre-season. I was looking at other managers and clubs doing things. It was a weird feeling.”

With the appointment of Jose Mourinho as Spurs head coach, players like Dele Alli,Eric Dier,Lucas Moura,Tanguy Ndombele,Davinson Sánchez, Serge Aurier who naturally are Mourinho kind of players are expected to raise their game under the tutelage of the humble One.

“In football nothing is certain, but one thing is: Jose Mourinho is a winner.
